While many businesses, banks and government departments will be closed on these days, the only days when normal retail must be shut are Christmas Day, Easter Sunday, Good Friday and Anzac Day Morning. Essential services will be available every day.
Normal retail hours are 8.30 AM to 5.00 PM Monday to Friday. New Zealand has seven day retail, with many shops open through the weekend. However, in smaller towns many shops may be closed on Sunday or even Saturday.
