Emergency Services

Police, fire and ambulance services are located throughout Central Otago. Roxburgh, Ranfurly, Omakau, Cromwell and Alexandra each have a local Police station. Civil Defence, Urban and Rural Fire and Ambulance services are mostly provided by a dedicated group of volunteers. These services are based in strategic locations throughout the district which ensures that all communities receive timely support in times of need. The volunteers are trained and skilled to meet national standards and give freely of their time to ensure their communities emergency needs are covered.
