This is a great holiday event with “3 races in 1” designed to cater for everyone. Starting at the Bannockburn Pub it’s a great sight to watch the field of over 500 bikers head off ‘en-mass’.
The serious guys do the Classic ride 35km’s high up into the hills above Clyde and career downhill, along the tortuous pylon track, back to the finish line at the pub. By then the family groups and little kids have successfully negotiated the Recreational ride, 10kms of gravel and farm tracks, proud of their achievements, with smiles a mile wide.
For the sporty folk who want a bit more of a challenge, there is the 22km ride over gravel roads, rough farm tracks and pylon track.
Parking is in the paddock in front of the pub and you need to be early to get a good park. The garden bar at the Bannockburn Pub is great place to relax and relive your ride with friends and family. Enjoy a sausage from the BBQ, some pub grub and replace the lost fluids.
