Marital Status

Here in Central Otago we tend to be a stable lot. More of us are married and fewer of us have yet to walk the aisle than for the national average.

Central Otago Marriage Status

This may be linked to the age class distribution of the district, with a more mature population more likely to be in a stable relationship.

Note:
  1. All people over the age of 20.
  2. “Separated, Divorced or Widowed” includes people who are still legally married but permanently separated. This also applies to civil unions.
  3. Not Elsewhere Included” includes Joined in a Civil Union (Not Separated) and Response Unidentifiable.
