As the new health and safety legislation nears becoming law we invite you to attend this practical half day workshop to discuss the implications for your business.

This workshop is primarily aimed for Directors of companies, elected council and School Board members and CEO’s however, anyone with health and safety responsibility would benefit if they are in a position of informing boards of the health and safety responsibility.

◦The roles captured under the Officers clause in the new legislation

◦The Officers responsibility and clarification between governance v’s management activities

◦Good governance guidelines for managing health and safety risks for the guiding principles for the session

Managing Poor Performance

Performance management can be stressful for all concerned – both employer and employee. 

It’s essential that ongoing poor performance is addressed promptly in a firm but fair way. This is a practical programme which will give you confidence to initiate the process.

Employers and managers who are directly responsible for managing poor performance. Ideally, you will already have theoretical understanding of your employer obligations, but want practical tips on the ‘how to”.

◦Performance improvement plans – what are they and when to use them

◦When does it become a disciplinary matter?

◦What do we mean when we use the term “warning”

◦Tips and techniques for keeping focus on the performance issues at hand

◦Strategies for performance improvement meetings across a range of potential situations

◦Contend with challenging employees/representatives

◦Confidence to keep on track and handle ‘curve balls’

◦Ensure procedural fairness guidelines are clear and observed at all times
