Business Support

Regional Business Partnerships

Do you have aspirations to grow your business?

If you do we are here to support you.  Regional Business Partners have been set up by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) and Callaghan Innovation to be local hubs of business development know-how and research and development (R&D) expertise in the regions.

In Central Otago, the assessor for the scheme is Tara Druce.  Tara works with local businesses to give advice, support and access to funding to support business growth.

Free Assessment

The programme provides a free assessment for any GST-registered business, resulting in a tailored list of information, advice, and possible sources of support (from both the public and private sectors) with the aim of encouraging business growth.

Funding

Business with an export focus including in the tourism sector that have an identified need for staff training support might qualify for some financial assistance for training in areas such as business development, marketing, governance, financial management, lean manufacturing, and exporting.

Subsidised training is for owners and key staff of businesses showing growth and innovation potential.  They also need to be GST registered, operating in a commercial environment and have fewer than 50 employees.  There is a broad range of courses and business coaching sessions available under the scheme.

If you have aspirations for growth for your business, take up this opportunity by contacting the Central Otago assessor, Tara Druce on Email or Phone 021 216654

Regional Investment - Otago

New Zealand is recognised globally as being a safe place to invest and do business.  It ranks first in the world for protecting investors, for lack of corruption and for ease in starting a business.  It has a stable and internationally competitive economy and a wide range of free trade agreements, pro-competitive regulation, an efficient tax code, and an open political system.  The absence in almost all sectors of import tariffs and Government subsidies has given rise to an efficient globally competitive economy that facilitates both domestic and foreign investment.  To assist prospective business investors, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise has produced a series of Regional Investment Profiles.  Please click HERE to read and download the profile for Otago, which covers the Central Otago district.
