The Goldrush multi-sport has been revamped for 2014 into a new 2 day format including; kayaking, mountain biking, and mountain running.
The inspiration for Goldrush was derived from the historic footsteps of the pioneers who came to Central Otago searching for gold in the 1860s. The athletes who take on Goldrush do so with no less grit and spirit than those first pioneers. Historic relics of those, who carved the landscape, accentuate the course.
The Central Otago landscape is magnificent with stark contrasts. It is an environment is unequalled in New Zealand. The contrasts of the environment are mirrored in the race itself. The racing is passionate and intense, yet set within a spirit of camaraderie and enjoyment. The evening campsites are mellow and highlighted by the enthusiasm of the local communities who host the event each night.
Sign up for an autumn multisport experience unlike any other! You won't be disappointed!

“The Goldrush will continue to draw me back each year as it always promises an unforgettable experience. A special mix of people make
the race memorable, all sharing in a journey through the most spectacular multisport course in the country. The whole weekend is a
journey of discovery and the most satisfying event I have ever completed. The 16th edition cannot come quickly enough!”
