SCOTTISH WEEK - SEPTEMBER
In the town of Roxburgh, well known for its Scottish heritage, magnificent stone fruit, and "Jimmy's Pies", and where every street bears a ‘Scottish Name (the main street is Scotland Street); a series of events and activities takes place every two years. The local residents invite the Scots and other visitors, to join in our celebrations to showcase the region.
Scottish Week is a full-on programme of festivities: from brass bands, pipe bands and bagpipes to the Kilt Canter family run/walk; from a golf tournament where the wearing of kilts is encouraged to a Ceilidh with Gaelic folk music, Scottish country dancing and a Haggis ceremony; from a Gathering of Clans dinner to Church services; from a busking competition to movie screenings.
Let’s source our Scottish Heritage and get into the bagpipes, haggis, malt and kilts!!!
