Tourism Central Otago’s Public Relations and Media activity focuses on raising and maintaining the profile of our region as a visitor destination in the eyes of domestic and international media. As a Regional Tourism Organisation, media recognise that Tourism Central Otago (TCO) has an extensive knowledge of the industry and represent a large cross-section of the region’s businesses. For this reason we are often the first point of contact when they are researching a story or filming opportunity. We supply domestic and international media with support including general information, story angles, features and images, organising interview subjects and itinerary planning.
TCO actively target media visits each year, hosting quality domestic and international media to increase the awareness of Central Otago by giving them the opportunity to directly experience a product or service during their stay. We also collaborate with Tourism New Zealand in their International Media Programme, (TNZ IMP) which targets international media to produce motivating, accurate and inspirational coverage of New Zealand as a quality tourism destination and encouraging the ‘interactive traveller’ to visit.
