Jolendale Park
JOLENDALE PARK (established 1960) 6 hectares of relatively unmodified open countryside with outstanding Otago schist rock outcrop escarpments located along the upper part of Bridge Hill. Embraces a unique collection of Introduced trees and irises amongst fields of wild flowers.

Permanently protected by QEII National Trust for Open Space covenant as the sole registered 'semi-arid woodland reserve' in New Zealand on one of the driest sites in Central Otago.

The park is open for public inspection and quiet enjoyment at all times.
It contains some rare native sedge species, old sluiced goldmining remnants. Rock caves contain evidence of early Moa bird occupation of this site. Curators: JOLYON MANNING a former member of the NZ Tourism Council and many other tree planting, earth and atmospheric science groups, and (Dr) ENNY MANNING currently national registrar of the NZ Iris Society.

We welcome inquiries related to these subjects of trees and irises, climate change topics, and rural landscape values.

Walking trails, lichen draped rock scapes. An opportunity to become better acquainted with the surrounding Central Otago landscapes.
