Iconic Country Racing at the ever popular Omakau racecourse.

Admission is  $10 for 18years and over, being fantastic value for money with all the free activities/competitions and racing throughout the day. 

Racing Starts at midday with race one and the last race starting at approx 6pm. Not forgetting the feature race of the day is the McLarens Transport/RD Petroleum Central Otago Cup worth $30,000 along with a $15,000 Free for All Trot.

You can be entertained all day by events and competitions such as House of Travel Womans Fashion in the Field, Multiple chances to win packages such as Highlander season passes to home games kindly sponsored by Dunedin City Ford, or Gibbston Valley concert tickets provided by Media Works, along with lucky punter, you can also win rides on the mobile barrier to witness the start of the races - a truly amazing experience. 

Children of all ages are spoilt for activities, this includes pony rides, mini jeep rides, aqua bubbles, huge bouncy castles, scavenger hunt, kids tote for 2 races, lollie scramble to name a few.

New this year for the first time ever at Omakau we are giving away 2 chances to experience part ownership of a racehorse on the day and also for a year. There are two ways we are providing this and you need to check out our facebook page for details for when this competition beings, check out Omakau Trots 2019. 2 Shares in 6 horses are up for grabs for a year and a further 2 shares available for racing a horse on the day, courtesy of Kirk & Michelle Larsen with"Own the Moment Syndicate" & Nigel Armstrong with"The Witches of Westview 2 Syndicate". Competitions will be on facebook but you have to be oncourse on raceday to win.

Plenty of food avaiable provided by local vendors and clubs from whitebait patties, espresso coffee cart, kebabs, candyfloss, icecream and fruit as well as a licensed bar. You are welcome to bring your own chillibin and park up under the trees with family and friends.
