Central Otago won the right to host the i-SITE Conference in a competitive bid tender process last year. Delegates from i-SITES across New Zealand will converge on Central Otago for the three-day conference to be held in Cromwell from 21-23 September. The conference is themed ‘Forward Horizons’, as the new strategic plan for the i-SITE network will be released at the event.
Two to three days either side of the conference, delegates will have the opportunity to experience our wonderful region and its activities through coordinated familiarisations. These 'famils' will increase delegates’ knowledge of our area, activities and operators. This will enable the i-SITE network to better promote Central Otago to visitors at their own i-SITEs. Around 7.3m people move through the i-SITEs with the network processing $73.6m of sales directly into the national economy and influencing a further spend of $224.9m annually.
