Central Otago Literary Series 2026 - Josiah Morgan.

We’re excited to launch the second series of talks and workshops in our 2026 Central Otago Literary Series with Josiah Morgan - poet, actor, drama teacher, performer, facilitator, reviewer, editor and writer from Christchurch.

Aug 1: Talk 1. Creative Practice as a Way of Living

This talk explores making a living as a creative in Aotearoa, drawing ideas from the world around you, and meaningful ways of embedding creative practice into your day-to-day life. We'll discuss the concrete building blocks of Josiahs pathway to publication. Talk 2. Writing as a Profession - A Practical Guide. This talk explores the business side of being a writer, concrete steps towards getting published, and how you can put your best foot forward when it comes to creative pursuits.

Aug 2. Public Workshop - Writing from Creative Constraints.

In our time together we will explore numerous ways to get the writing juices flowing, both in poetry and prose. We'll think about storytelling, using restrictions to help unlock creativity, and test out a range of new ideas together. For more information and to book email:
