Clyde Museum

5 Blyth Steet

Clyde is a charming old gold mining town with many beautifully preserved historic buildings.

The Clyde Museum pays homage to the township’s colourful and significant past. Beyond the museum’s doors lies a glittering treasure trove of local history.

Located on the site of the original County Council building (1878), the museum is housed in the 1970s Vincent County Council building. The original council boardroom furnishings remain, echoing the life and decisions of local government from bygone days.

Despite its small size, the museum cares for objects of regional and national significance and plays an important role in heritage education for residents, schools, and visitors. The museum works collaboratively with regional and national partners to ensure local stories are preserved and shared in meaningful and accessible ways for future generations.
