Welcome to the 49th World Gold Panning Championships, proudly hosted by the Otago Goldfields Heritage Trust.
Dive into an unforgettable week where tradition meets competition, nature meets adrenaline and the world comes to Cromwell, Central Otago.
The 49th World Gold Panning Championships will bring together seasoned panners and passionate newcomers from across the globe to this stunning part of the world.
- Opening Parade and speeches at the Alexandra Blossom Festival on Saturday 26 September.
Main location for the event will be the Cromwell Racecourse with competitions starting at 10am every day, followed by:
- Locals Fun Day Competitions start Sunday 27 September with live performances, market stalls, food trucks etc.
- Outdoor Movie Night, Kapa Haka & Hangi and final Hoedown are just some of the additional highlights!
